6 Tips to Overcoming Procrastination

Do you get distracted or putting off important tasks until the last minute?  Do you set such high and unrealistic expectations for yourself that your endless list of tasks leaves you feeling overwhelmed and exhausted?

If so you can relate to today’s episode on True Potential today.  You see I have a confession to make.  Although I have taken some steps to prepare my taxes, I am a bit overwhelmed by the process of preparing my US taxes as a resident in a foreign country.

Geez!  Dealing with the bureaucracy of not just one but 2 government agencies is enough to make your head spin.  Plus having different tax deadlines (US April 15th and Italy June 15th), the uncertainty of knowing if I am paying twice (both into the US system and the Italian system) and coordinating between my Italian accountant and my International accountant makes me feel like I am powerless in this unfamiliar terrain.  Can anyone relate to feeling this way sometimes?

Well guess what, today we will be covering the 6 Steps to Overcoming Procrastination that I have used to help me start taking action and start feeling empowered again.

  1. Nice episode!   But how do you only do 3 times a day?    I agree that internet is a big time waster.   I realized the other day I am spending 30 minutes every morning reading email!   So I have started cutting that down….hope you are doing well!


    • Thank you for your comments. That is fantastic that you have cut back on time wasters and reduced internet surfing. Way to go!!! Oh course we are not always in a position to do only 3 tasks a day and it is unrealistic as our jobs require accomplishing so much more. I guess a better way of phrasing it is to prioritize our tasks into 3 categories (A= high priority, B= moderate priority, C= low priority). Then breaking down your tasks into these frameworks (A1, A2, A3, B1, B2…). I hope that helps :) Andrea
